Lisa Totten, Senior Client Accounting Specialist
In the world of accounting, Lisa Totten is well-traveled. “You name the business, I've probably done accounting for it, to be honest. From horse jockeys to big restaurants to shed companies, I have a nice potpourri box of clients,” she says. “I’m an open book and ready for any challenge that’s thrown at me.”
Now a Senior Client Accounting Specialist at Rudler, PSC, she looks forward to expanding her talents in client service.
A native of Erlanger now living in Louisville, Ky., Totten spent two years attending Eastern Kentucky University before “following her love home” and getting married to her husband, Joe. she began her work career in 2005 at the Albert Oil Company in Louisville, Ky., as an office manager. She would stay with the company through February 2016, when she moved to a new position with Stuedle, Spears, & Company (later partially acquired by Blue & Co., LLC). “It was the ‘right place, right time.’ A friend worked for my prior firm and knew they were looking for a bookkeeper,” says Totten. “I applied and got the job.”
Totten’s skilled work with numbers earned her a promotion to a senior accounting specialist role with the company before taking a similar position with Rudler, PSC in November 2024. Her current position has her working as a data specialist, concentrating on ensuring information is accurate and reviewing financial reports and more in a timely manner.
Now settled in at the firm, she doesn’t plan on working anywhere else.
“The team at Rudler is fantastic. Everyone I’ve spoken to or worked with has just been phenomenal and the opportunities are endless here,” she says. “Alex started as a co-op there and has worked his way all the way up to being the current president of the firm. I noticed that they do a great job of hiring and promoting from within – I feel like I have found my forever home.”
She hopes all those who put their trust in her will have a similar sentiment about her work.
“Trust is very important. If someone is working with me, I hope that they realize that they can trust that I'll get the work done quickly and efficiently but accurately,” she says. “Client relationships are extremely important to gaining that trust. Hopefully, when people walk away, they feel confident not only in me but in the firm.”
Totten enjoys several hobbies away from work, including supporting her son’s avid golf habit, which she also does as a member of the board of directors for the Bluegrass Golf Foundation in Louisville, Ky. Additionally, she enjoys spending time with her twin sister, Laura, and older brother, Jimbo as well as her nieces and nephews whenever possible, scrapbooking with girlfriends and traveling whenever she has the opportunity.
