Kacie Hamlett, Senior Accountant

Being a feature twirler during her days at the University of Cincinnati had its perks, including a trip to the Cotton Bowl in 2021. But while she had fun performing, Kacie Hamlett was focused on making sure she didn’t drop the ball – or, in her case, baton – on her studies so she could pursue her dream career upon graduating.
Now that she’s been promoted to a Senior Accountant at Rudler, PSC, she’s happy to have earned the spotlight on her achievements.
A native of Louisville, Ohio, Kacie earned her BS in Accounting from UC, which she attended with the help of several scholarships. While attending UC, she also began her professional career by working as a bookkeeper in her hometown at The SPOT Center, managing payroll for ten employees and reconciling accounts to maintain record accuracy. She would first join Rudler in Dec. of 2022 as a co-op student before joining the firm full time as a staff accountant in 2024.
When asked what got her interested in accounting, Kacie says the fact that her brother, father and grandfather all work as accountants (coupled with a love of math since youth). She says a career in accounting felt like it was a natural step after her role as a twirler helped prepare for her future career.
“I had a lot of practices, a lot of performances. Doing all of that on top of trying to go to school or having a job was a lot, so being able to take what I learned while I was going through that and kind of use it here at work has been really helpful,” she says. “I feel like I do a pretty good job of keeping my schedule put together and staying on top of tasks while delegating time where I need to do.”
As a senior accountant, Kacie will have increased responsibilities and ownership before, transitioning from a behind-the-scenes role to being more client facing. She will also have supervisory functions in her work, helping to train co-op students.
The work/life balance available at Rudler and people are what she cites as liking the most about working at Rudler – and that includes the clients.
“I care,” she says. “I’m not just looking at a piece of paper when I'm thinking about the person behind who I'm trying to help. I want the best for them as does everyone that calls Rudler home.”
Away from work, Kacie enjoys spending time with her husband, Tyler. They can often be found enjoying the great outdoors at Red River Gorge together. The Newport resident is also a member of the Northern Kentucky Young Professionals (NKYP) program, where she looks to further her networking and professional network.
