New careers can begin in a number of ways. In Matthew Topmiller’s case, the combination of a former co-worker’s rave reviews of the company plus the desire to seek a new opportunity made the chance to join Rudler, PSC one he had to take.

Now one of the firm’s tax managers, he can firmly say he’s quite happy he did.

Matthew brings more than 15 years of experience to Rudler, PSC as a tax manager, a role which sees him reviewing tax returns and serving as both a manager and mentor to employees. He cites those years of experience and his track record of advancement at his previous firms as the reasons his clients should feel confident entrusting him with their financial affairs. To date, his clients seem to agree. “It’s nice when clients send a holiday card or treat you to lunch as a token of their appreciation for your hard work on their behalf,” he says. “I’m very lucky to be working for such amazing clients here at Rudler.”

A Northern Kentucky native, Topmiller is a two-time graduate of Northern Kentucky University where he earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in accounting on the road to becoming a CPA. Now living in Burlington, Ky. with his wife Melissa, their three children and their cat, Bandit. Matthew sites sports as a main pursuit away from the office, whether it’s playing golf, league volleyball, or cheering on children from the sidelines. While he has his sites set on Hawaii as a bucket list destination, he admits, “that’s a long way off” as being a parent takes priority in his life away from the office.
