Abby Kump, Tax Manager

Abby Kump grew up in a home inspired by academics – her mother taught math and her father, social studies. So, it was no surprise when a high school accounting class sparked her future career path.

Her studies at Northern Kentucky University solidified her passion for the field. Abby earned her bachelor’s degrees in accounting and finance, all while participating in the Finance & Accounting Student Association, Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity, and campus ministry.

Abby went on to build a strong professional foundation at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), advancing from intern to senior tax associate before joining Macy’s Cincinnati office, where she rose to Director of Income Tax Administration in 2025. When she learned about an opportunity at Rudler, PSC through her former college roommate, Becca Thorman who is a Rudler Assurance Manager, Abby knew it was the right next step.

Abby joined Rudler in June 2026 as a tax manager. In this role, she handles tax review items and works with teammates to advance client relationships – and she’s already feeling right at home.

“I was really drawn to Rudler, having a personal connection to an employee and knowing how much she enjoyed working here,” she says. “From day one, everyone has been so welcoming and helpful. It feels very community driven. Instead of feeling intimidated or navigating a giant corporate environment where you have to jump through hoops just to get an answer, I find that everything and everyone here is accessible.”

She hopes to create that same comfortable, collaborative experience for her clients.

“Both of my parents instilled in me a love for learning,” she says. “I really enjoy digging into complex tax issues, applying my experience, and finding the right solution. But above all, I love building relationships. It’s so much more rewarding to work on a return when you really know the person behind it.”

Away from work, the Anderson Township resident enjoys cooking with her husband, Andrew, and spending time with their yellow lab, Moose. An avid runner, Abby frequently explores the city with her running group, the Wild Pace Society, and competes in several half marathons annually, including Cincinnati’s Queen Bee. Her adventures aren’t limited to local soil, though; she cites a recent trip to Norway as one of her all-time favorite vacations.
