Emily Demurias, Tax Manager
Emily Demurias is a former four-year Division I softball player at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), whose years as a student-athlete shaped her leadership style, resilience, and love for teamwork. She believes that every member of a team plays a vital role in both its successes and challenges, and she brings that collaborative mindset into her professional career.
“I remember speaking to my advisor about selecting a major, as I was still undecided in my freshman year,” says Demurias. “Math had always piqued my interest, so we discussed it further, and my advisor told me something I would never forget, ‘Accounting is the language of business; You can never go wrong if you go that route.’ That is how I decided to study accounting.”
A Miami native now residing in Fort Myers, Fla., Demurias earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting and her Master of Science in Accounting and Taxation, both from FGCU. She would take her first professional accounting position upon graduating from her undergraduate program, joining BriersCPA in Bonita Springs, Fla. as a staff accountant/tax associate in Aug. 2018. She would then work her way up the firm’s ladder, progressing from a senior accountant to tax manager before becoming a senior tax manager. Her time there saw her develop strong client relationships and be part of business development, which she truly enjoys.
With seven years of progressive accounting and tax experience, Demurias is passionate about helping business owners navigate every stage of growth—from start-up hurdles to scaling challenges. Her expertise spans building accurate financial statements, business and tax advisory, tax preparation, and strategic planning. Her approach focuses on making complex financial and tax concepts accessible, ensuring her clients feel valued, seen, and supported as they work toward their goals.
Joining Rudler in Aug. 2025 as a Tax Manager, she hopes to blend her technical tax expertise with a strategic outlook and bring the same level of client and team service. She will oversee tax return preparation and review, collaborate closely with colleagues on client projects, and focus on building strong relationships while driving business development. Demurias prides herself on being a team player and loves to add value wherever needed.
Away from work, she enjoys spending time with family, her wife, Natalie, and their two dogs and cat. She strives to remain athletic and enjoys the gym, riding bike, and binge-watching movies and tv shows.
